The exceptional quality of image reproduction that exceeds 10 million pixels, the highly functional and stylish housing, and above all, the innovative features specific to the underwater environment make this the world of the DX-1G.
NEW SEA & SEA MODE BREATHES LIFE INTO EVERY SHOT The new Sea & Sea mode, which captures the beautiful colours of the sea, is a still picture mode that has been developed exclusively for underwater photography. The ideal colour balance is based on the knowledge and many years of underwater imaging experience at Sea & Sea. It enables anyone to capture a great image easily and the mode has also been optimised for taking photographs using Sea & Sea accessories such as (strobes), as the ISO sensitivity is automatically set at 100. Capturing images of the underwater world has never been easier.Boasting superb optical clarity thanks to a high performance lens utilising low-dispersion glass and a high refractive index which effectively suppresses distortion, colour aberration and light fall-off, the DX-1G ensures your pictures are clear all the way to the edge. Customisation is also a big part of the DX-1G experience as settings can be customised to fit your personal style to enable full versatility and ease of use and to make the DX-1G even more user-friendly frequently used settings can be toggled at the touch of a dial. The next generation of digital underwater camera systems has arrived and it’s called the DX-1G. SUPERIOR IMAGE REPRESENTATION, WITH A CCD HAVING 10.01 MILLION EFFECTIVE PIXELS. The camera is equipped with a 1/1.75 charge coupled device (CCD) image sensor having 10.01 million effective pixels, which offers superior resolution and the ability to vividly record every detail of your precious moments. (The maximum recordable number of pixels is 3648 x 2736). The Smooth Imaging Engine II faithfully reproduces every detail of the picture, and outputs high-quality, low-noise images. In this way, detailed and realistic images are created that are suitable for enlargement. VIBRATION CORRECTION FUNCTION FOR CAPTURING CRITICAL MOMENTS PRECISELY The camera is equipped with a CCD shift-method vibration correction function, which is exceptionally effective in stabilising images when the shutter is pressed. The function prevents images from being blurred by hand motion. The function is also effective when you want to take a picture without using a strobe, thereby capturing the ambience of the scene. 24-72mm 3x OPTICAL ZOOM LENS DESIGNED FOR USE IN A VARIETY OF SITUATIONS The focal length of the 3x optical zoom lens is 5.1-15.3mm, or 24 to 72mm on a conventional 35mm film camera. The lens has a maximum aperture (f-stop value) from f2.5 to f4.4. The perspective can be adjusted precisely according to your style with the wide-angle setting to capture the dynamic environment. In addition, unique visual effects can be used to enhance your pictures. The step zoom function enables the zoom focal length to be fixed in five increments, at 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 72mm, equivalent to a conventional film camera. The lens construction consists of 11 elements in 7 groups, utilising aspherical and special low-dispersion glass lenses with high refractive index. COMPATABLE WITH RAW DATA STORAGE The three picture quality modes are Fine (F), Normal (N), and RAW. The RAW mode (DNG format file) allows the images to be processed on personal computers and high quality images to be recorded. A JPEG file (in the picture quality: Fine (F), Normal (N), or N640) associated with the RAW format file can also be recorded at the same time. 2.5 INCH LCD MONITOR WITH A WIDE DISPLAY The camera is equipped with a 2.5 inch, 230 000-pixel LCD monitor. The monitor can be clearly viewed horizontally or vertically from a 170 degrees angle, which enables you to enjoy photographing even underwater where the light can be reflected diffusely while viewing a shooting mode on the screen. The picture image and data can be easily confirmed by using the histogram display, which allows you to control the exposure more precisely while taking test photographs on the monitor using the different luminance distribution of the picture image. The monitor also features grid guide display (when in the shooting mode) and white saturation highlights display (when in the playback mode). EqQUIPPED WITH APERATURE PRIORITY MODE / MANUAL EXPOSURE MODE In addition to the auto shooting mode that allows you to casually take pictures while allowing the camera to take care of all the details, the 1G camera also provides scene modes that accommodate a wide range of subjects and photographic situations. In addition, 3 modes: A (aperture priority) M (manual exposure) and P (program) allow you to enjoy creative photography to its fullest. The A (aperture priority) mode, allows control by setting the camera’s aperture, enabling you to take a picture while keeping the aperture fully open so that the areas around the subject and the background of the subject are blurry. Alternatively, while using the A mode, you can reduce the aperture to create a very long depth of field, so that everything is in focus. It is a very convenient function for underwater photography. The aperture can be set in 12 increments from the narrowest aperture to fully open thereby allowing you precise control of the exposure. DIVERS PHOTOGRAPHIC FUNCTIONS TO SUIT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE The aspect ratio can be selected from 3 choices, namely 4:3, 3:2 (which is the same as with 35mm film cameras), and 1:1. You can enjoy photography similar to that performed with a medium-sized camera. Pictures in the nostalgic tone of sepia can also be taken, in addition to monochrome. BATTERY SYSTEM FOR 340 PICTURES, COMPATIBLE WITH AAA BATTERIES The 1G camera is compatible with 3 types of power source, namely the rechargeable battery*, AAA batteries* and AC adaptor*. The high performance rechargeable battery allows about 340 pictures** to be taken. Also, the readily available AAA batteries allow about 30 pictures to be taken, making them convenient if you need to replace the batteries while you are traveling. Oxyride batteries and Nickel-hydrogen batteries can also be used.
