A group of seven islands and islets lying between 100 - 18km off Whangarei Heads.
Best scuba diving - West Chicken, Tara Rocks, Coppermine Point, Lighthouse Point, and Tawatawa Bay. Dolphins are often sighted. Fish life is varied with schoolfish , snapper, , kingfish and crayfish.
Prolific kelp beds. Visibility 7 - 30m. All islands good photography.
