Along the Swan River are many excellent shore dives. Sites like Bicton
Baths, Point Walter and Blackwall Reach provide access along the river
south shore. On the northern shore are Mead's and Coombe sites in
Mosman Park. The maximum depth of the river is about 21m. The river is
perhaps most exciting at night, when the cryptic seahorses are easiest
seen and the crustaceans come out to feed. Western King Prawns and
Blue Manna Crabs are plentiful, and are caught in great quantities by
eager divers. Fishlife in the river include catfish (cobbler), flathead, gobies,
black bream and many more.
